The Program Director, Executive Engagement & Transformation will be a key strategic leader within the Medical Affairs organization, responsible for driving cultural transformation, strengthening external collaborations, and ensuring seamless communication across the medical function. This individual will play a critical role in enhancing executive engagement, fostering cross-functional alignment, and reinforcing the external influence of Medical Affairs.

This position will be based at Princeton Pike (PPK) Headquarters and will report directly to Head of Medical Affairs

Key Responsibilities

1. Executive Engagement & Strategic Communication

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive executive engagement strategy to enhance the visibility and influence of Medical Affairs leadership team across the organization and externally.

  • Partner closely with corporate communication to craft and deliver compelling executive communications, including keynotes, thought leadership materials, and strategic updates.

  • Facilitate high-impact engagement strategy and plans across therapeutic areas with external stakeholders, including thought leaders (TLs), scientific societies, advocacy groups, and industry influencers.

  • Lead the development of Medical Affairs strategic narratives, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and scientific advancements.

2. Cultural Transformation, Organizational Alignment & Skillset building

  • Strengthen the Medical Affairs culture by reinforcing BMS values, increasing engagement, and driving a high-performance, patient-centric mindset.

  • Work closely with leadership to embed transformation initiatives into day-to-day operations, ensuring clear alignment with business objectives.

  • Drive internal engagement programs, including town halls, leadership summits, and forums to connect teams with the broader medical mission.

  • Ensure Medical Affairs is continuously advancing its foundational skillsets for leadership and strong scientific acumen

3. External Collaboration & Thought Leadership

  • Establish and maintain key external partnerships to advance Medical Affairs' reputation as a thought leader in scientific engagement and healthcare innovation.

  • Develop initiatives that enhance Medical Affairs' role in developing cross-industry collaborations.

  • In collaboration with corporate communications, identify opportunities for Medical Affairs leaders to participate in global panels, conferences, and executive roundtables.

4. Medical Affairs Communication & Information Flow

  • Ensure seamless, transparent, and effective communication across the Medical Affairs organization, facilitating strategic alignment.

  • Oversee content strategy and execution for internal leadership updates, external presentations, and key messaging.

  • Drive medical storytelling excellence, ensuring our communications inspire action and reinforce Medical Affairs' value proposition.

  • Work closely with Corporate Communications to ensure alignment with the broader corporate communication strategy, ensuring consistency and impact across all messaging.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role within Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Communications, or Executive Engagement.

  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and align executive stakeholders across functions.

  • Strong understanding of the biopharma industry, medical landscape, and external engagement best practices.

  • Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and communication skills with a track record of shaping high-impact narratives.

  • Experience leading cultural transformation initiatives within complex organizations.

  • Background in external affairs, public affairs, or strategic partnerships is a plus.

  • Ability to work on-site at Princeton Pike Headquarters (PPK).
