Provo City is seeking a full-time division director to oversee the Economic Development Division of the Development Services department. This position works closely with the Development Services Director as well as many public organizations in the community.
This position is responsible for promoting Provo's business development opportunities and achieving long-term general plan goals for physical and economic development. Individuals interested in directing these services for the City of Provo are encouraged to apply.

Salary & Benefits:
$120,000 - $165,000 annually (depending on experience) plus a generous benefits package (https://www.provo.org/home/showpublisheddocument/24489/638549317904370000) .

Selection of Essential Duties:
Promote a positive City image and attract potential developers to the City.
Develop professional working relationships with a variety of community leaders.
Select potential sites, negotiate land sales, and handle project details.
Assist in designing and implementing a public advertising program to market Provo and City-owned developments.
Review effectiveness of current programs and recommend changes as needed.
Prepare and submit a timely division budget.
Generate specific studies and reports addressing current City needs and trends.
Supervise, plan, and coordinate the work of assigned personnel; oversee staff training.
Identify, evaluate, and resolve personnel concerns including hiring and firing of personnel.
Solve problems related to City-sponsored projects and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of job-related education and experience [substituting each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience].
Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or other job-related field.
Five (5 )years of professional experience in economic development or other job-related field OR Master's degree in one of the above and four (4 )years of experience.
A valid, lawful Driver License.

Selection Process:
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Screening of all submissions will be after the closing date. Candidates identified as best qualified will be moved forward to the initial interview.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to appointment. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
