Job Specifications

As the Electric Utility Technical Training Program Manager, identify, develop, coordinate and track technical training related to power generation, electric transmission and electric distribution. Utilize a systematic approach to training to develop and maintain training materials and schedules. Develop evaluation instruments and collect trainee and stakeholder feedback for program improvements.

Pay Range:$88,700 - $133,150 / Grade 16 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Relationship:Sr. Manager, Pipeline Safety Quality Management

Location:This position can be located in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Pueblo, Colorado; or Rapid City, South Dakota.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and maintain a systematic approach in the development of safety/technical training for electric utility field operations employees.

• Lead in the development and maintenance of applicable electric utility safety policies and procedures and ensure they are appropriately covered in applicable safety/technical training programs.

• Coordinate and direct an efficient and effective strategy for the delivery of safety/technical training to all electric utility field operations employees.

• Maintain appropriate and consistent coordination with Safety Department personnel as well as maintain appropriate interactions with all levels of electric utility management.

• Manage coordination and delivery of training to employees and the general public on the hazards of electricity.

• Promote and instill strong safety culture and expectations in all phases of company operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Lead the coordination in providing professional or technical services elsewhere in the company’s energy business, as requested, by connecting subject matter experts.

What You'll Need:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering, Safety, Education, or technical field related to the subject(s) in which the individual will provide instruction or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 5 or more years electrical industry experience.

What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught:

• Journeyman Lineman or Substation experience preferred. Preference given to applicant with CUSP/Electric Certification.

• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL License within 1 Year

• Knowledge of OSHA/safety practices to industry standards.

• Demonstrated technical and operational expertise.

• Effective presentation, facilitation, and training skills.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.

• Team player and demonstrated ability to effectively lead in such an environment.

• Excellent computer skills, strong oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to conceptualize and explain technical theories, functions, or procedures clearly and accurately.

• Ability to drive the High Voltage Demonstration Trailer, as needed.
