U.S. Marine Corps IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in Quantico, Virginia
Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Training Command (TRNGCMD) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND. Responsibilities You will manage the day-to-day activities associated with providing CISP/WIFI services to all end-users using the CISP/WIFI Network. You will coordinate with the CISP service provider to resolve CISP/WIFI Network support issues. You will coordinate with the CISP service provider to provide appropriate cyber security protections that are written into the CISP contract. You will develop and implements standards, procedures, and processes to optimize the use of the TRNGCMD HQ CISP/WIFI Network. You will perform hardware and software inventory and asset management of computers, associated peripherals, and applications. You will validate, prepare, and process fiscal year task order rollover and period of performance extension modifications for the CISP. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: managing network configuration across the organization and ensuring as-built configuration is fully documented and complies with requirements and governing regulations. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: ensuring customer requirements are properly documented and incorporated into the final project deliverables. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: brief customer representatives on project risk and risk mitigation options, and communicate customer requirements and concerns in meetings with vendors. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: identifying security vulnerabilities and appropriate courses of action to eliminate or mitigate them. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and coordinating installation of commercial internet and Wifi network services for an organization, identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, and managing cost, performance, and schedule risk.
