Responsibilities You will plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications and work order in construction and maintenance facilities. You will apply skilled methods, techniques and advanced shop mathematics to construct, install, repair, and modify a wide variety of structures. You will install, modify, repair, and maintain a variety of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment. You will prepare various surfaces of interior and exterior components of buildings and other structures by mechanically and chemically removing old paint and rust, filling cracks, sanding, and applying fillers and base coats. You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. The normal tour of duty for this position is 2nd shift 15:00 to 23:30 to include weekends and holidays. This position requires rotating shift work. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
