Job Brief

Supervise all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, Supervising and counseling Drivers and Driver Aides. Develop and implement an on-going safety and training program in accordance with company goals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop and implement an on-going safety and training program in accordance with Agency goals. Oversee Driver and Aide on-the-road compliance & safety, Drug and Alcohol Program. Report and investigate motor vehicular accidents (on the road), handling registration of vehicles. Assist in dispatch operations

POSITION DUTIES:

• Develop and conduct training programs inclusive of the Pre-Service Orientation and the ongoing safety training, which includes employee safety meetings, distribution of materials, and training classes on all relevant topics appropriate for our industry for both CPT and other Agency Personnel.• Work in conjunction with Safety Supervisor and other managerial staff to meet the needs of the agency.• Conduct/assist with disciplinary hearings with the Amalgamated Transit Union, relating to violations of safety protocols; vehicle and individual specific. Maintain and organize driver and driver aide files including reports and facts pertinent to Union related hearings.• Assist with all aspects of activities with Department of Motor Vehicle (D.M.V.) interact with D.M.V. in preparing paperwork for new, transferred, lost, destroyed, duplicate, or replacement items. Supervise preparation of documentation for renewal of registrations of CP vehicles; coordinate all necessary documentation. • Report and investigate motor vehicular accidents (on the road), coordinating documentation and findings with the Director of Fleet Operations, Director of Operations, V.P., obtain all necessary information on the parties involved• Report to satellite sites of operation to dispatch, provide oversight, perform safety checks, etc. • Investigate and document incidents and injuries to both consumers and employees. Coordinate results of investigations with appropriate agency personnel and committees. Attend both Incident Review and Safety Committee Meetings as required.• When needed, perform driving duties as route driver. • Ensure drug and alcohol program is adhered to, for random, pre-employment, and post-accident testing. • Conduct on-the- road assessments of drivers, following drivers on the road to ensure proper procedures are followed. Ensure both drivers and aides follow proper safety protocols, as described in our Agency handbook, and governing requirements. • Participate in the Evening/Weekend Supervisor On-Call Rotation.• Perform all other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 3 years' experience in a transportation environment• Basic proficiency with a P.C. and Demonstrated communication skills• NYS Driver's license-- Class B CDL Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements.• Available for 1 weekend per month on duty.
