Robert Half Assistant Controller in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description

Robert Half is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role will involve overseeing and managing the daily accounting operations for various investments, supporting the asset management and finance departments, and reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations

• Process payables and receivables

• Reconcile all bank, money market and investment accounts, along with company credit card statements

• Perform treasury/cash management operations

• Track and update quarterly and annual revenue projections

• Create and update annual operating expense budgets for each property

• Participate and assist in the quarterly investor distributions process

• Track project and fund level investment performance

• Process annual 1099 filing requirements

• Provide support for annual tax return preparation and distributions of K-1s to investors

• Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial data

• Assist in creating financial models for future projects

• Assist in negotiating and analyzing loan proposals and refinancing opportunities for projects

• Organize data for quarterly investor communications and updates

• Respond to investor inquiries and other financial requests

• Assist in debt compliance and lender reporting

• Interpret and abstract loan, lease and partnership agreements

• Interact with local property managers to monitor property issues and collect quarterly reports and inspections

• Assist with property level due diligence for acquisitions, refinances and sales

• Track property and fund level insurance and assist CFO with monitoring and managing overall insurance program

Requirements

• CPA license highly preferred.

• Demonstrable experience in Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Solid understanding of financial regulations and accounting processes

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
