Passionate about vehicles and keeping them running in tip top shape? Youll be able to do that every day in this position. This role is the key to vehicle readiness by ensuring the proper preventative maintenance is performed frequently. Youll work on a variety of equipment from police cars to construction equipment. The type of work performed by this position is changing engine oil and filer, draining and filling coolant, replacing transmission filter or flushing the transmission fluid, replacing cabin air filters, replacing worn or damage tires, performing tire patch/plug repairs, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies repair needs and performs skilled maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment, and/or prepares related work orders for external repairs and service
- Reviews repair work to ensure completeness and accurate maintenance records
- Gathers vendor information related to external repairs; determines vendors and initiates work orders; may deliver vehicles or equipment to vendors for repair work
- Performs shop office support which may include receiving calls and responding to inquiries; providing customer service; performing data entry; dispatching service; preparing reports; organizing and maintaining records, files, correspondence, parts and/or equipment
- Work may include performing light external automotive repair, body work and repair, and glass/window repair

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and three years of automotive parts experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Class C Drivers license with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Valid North Carolina Class B Drivers license with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- NC State Safety and Emission Inspectors license or the ability to obtain this license within 45 days of hire
