Position Summary: The Principal Architect (TranSCend ERP) holds a pivotal role in supporting the strategy, design, and engineering of ERP technology and ERP business transformation within MedTech Supply Chain.
This role ensures that Johnson & Johnson's investment in the Digital Core ERP strategic business transformation through the TranSCend program is successfully applied. The objective is to develop and deliver an agile, scalable, reliable, resilient, and maintainable end-to-end solution that meets MedTech's business value proposition by providing foundational and strategic growth capabilities in ERP. The incumbent will be instrumental in crafting and optimizing our technology architecture, particularly within the realms of ERP and SAP S/4HANA, focusing extensively on the Plan, Make, and Deliver functions. This position demands a thorough understanding of systems integration and data management to ensure smooth operations across all supply chain activities. Candidates for this role should possess profound business, strategic, and technical acuity, enabling them to mediate discussions among partners with diverse viewpoints, articulate the chosen technological decisions, and support those decisions to interested parties.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the development and execution of the architecture roadmap for the MedTech Supply Chain, centering on ERP solutions and SAP S/4HANA to improve efficiency and scalability.
Using in-depth knowledge of ERP systems and SAP S/4HANA functionalities to optimize supply chain processes, particularly in Plan, Make, and Deliver functions.
Designing and coordinating robust integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow and process automation within the supply chain.
Developing and implementing comprehensive data strategies to enhance data quality, accessibility, and analytics throughout the supply chain processes.
Collaborating closely with multi-functional teams, including IT, supply chain management, and business units, to gather requirements and align architectural strategies.
Staying informed about the latest technological trends and in architecture practices, supply chain management, and ERP systems to continually refine our architectural strategies.
Ensuring all architectural solutions follow regulatory requirements and organizational standards while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Lead our architectural vision, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Focus on collaborative innovation by being a partner with engineering, platform, and product teams to align technical implementation with business needs and value.
Additional responsibilities include defining the technology vision for Digital Core ERP (S/4HANA) in alignment with business goals and objectives, collaborating with business and IT partners to understand needs, identify appropriate technology solutions, define the application landscape, and drive solutions with product owners. The role will also act as the domain guide for end-to-end Digital Core ERP Technology Architecture, develop incremental architecture states towards the end state based on product roadmap constraints, and ensure alignment with other technology functions and architects to deliver comprehensive solutions.
The selected candidate will develop architecture strategies, patterns, decision guides, and operate ERP architecture governance. They will champion clean core principles, foster a culture of standard processes, and communicate system design implications to business, BUIT, TS, and implementation partners. Talent development also falls under this role, including mentoring and coaching indirect reports developing architecture and engineering outputs. Furthermore, the role will support application rationalization and ALM/TLM goals, integrate data analytics components into software architecture, and provide technical leadership to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification in ERP or enterprise architecture is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
10 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of Supply Chain domain experience.
5 years of ERP architecture, design, and deployment experience, with at least 3 years focused on S/4HANA.
5 years of Solution Architecture experience.
5 years of experience in application architecture and integration architecture.
2 years of experience in data platform and platform architecture.
Comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes and technology requirements
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor a team of engineers and architects effectively.
SAP techno-functional expertise.
Proficiency in various S/4 modules (MM, SD, IM, FI, etc.).
BASIS, ABAP application development, configuration, etc.
Familiarity with S/4HANA, BTP, ECC, MDG, eWM, etc.
Application integration and data integration.
Cloud architecture.
ALM/TLM.
Preferred:
Working experience in MedTech industry
Background in design and programming.
Data platforms architecture and advanced analytics.
SAP BTP-IS, BTP-AppDev, BTP-Datasphere, BTP-Automation.
SAP DRC.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$118,000 to $203,550
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
