EnerSys Electrical Power Engineer (Hybrid) in Reading, Pennsylvania

Job Purpose

*This is a Hybrid position associated with the office in Reading PA. Expected to be in office 3 days a week minimum * To be part of a team working on development and successful deployment of new product related to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and DCFC (DC Fast Charge). As Electrical Power Engineer your scope of work will require detailed engineering for design and application of transformers, cabling, protective devices, power system studies, batteries, control, LV power distribution (up to 1000V) and other power & control systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design power distribution system from point of common coupling to the electrical load Analyze bi-directional power flow for low and medium voltage AC and DC distribution systems Conduct electrical system studies (Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash, Harmonics, etc) on ETAP Identify, specify, and apply electrical power distribution material and equipment (cables, terminals, fuses, CB,Transformers, Relays, etc) Design electrical assemblies and electrical harness for BESS and EV Charging Develop electrical drawings and equipment Bill of Materials Interface with suppliers Effectively communicate within a team in meetings and through Microsoft Teams Interpret customer site specifications and requirements Work with other disciplines to communicate the requirements of the electrical systems within the overall project

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Focus in power a plus. 3+years of electrical power system development and design experience Experience with power system design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM or others Able to adapt to changes and take ownership of responsibilities assigned Demonstrate the ability to work with and without guidance Knowledge of inverter/converter/EV charger Knowledge of state of the art batteries and other energy storage technologies Working experience with eMobility is an advantage Demonstrate knowledge and experience with grid tied power system design, power Demonstrate knowledge and experience with power distribution system components including transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, relays, and meters Demonstrate knowledge and experience of Battery ESS Experience working with power system equipment suppliers General Job Requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in clearly communicating technical information. Ability to interact on a professional level with design and construction professionals. A strong work ethic and efficient work style, including the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively. Motivated to advance both personal and company knowledge in the field of DCFC and Battery Energy Storage Systems Computer skills: Microsoft Office, including advanced skills with Excel, Word, and PDF editing, such asBluebeam; fluency using file sharing and project management cloud-based programs like Smartsheet ability to work efficiently and effectively with computer programs to compile well organized documents. Must be able to lift 50 lbs on occasions
