Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical control and power distribution systems and will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment, property, and buildings. This position requires troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical problems and ensuring compliance with safety and operating standards. The role includes working on electrical power distribution wiring, overseeing projects, and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair all equipment, property, and buildings associated with Company operations.
Specialize in electrical control and power distribution systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems associated with the machinery.
Deliver equipment, property, and buildings in compliance with safety and operating standards.
Maintain documents, records, and files to support Maintenance department activities.
Act as lead electrical technician for assigned projects, machine installations, building renovations/changes, and repairs.
Solicit contractor quotes as required and supervise project teams.
Mentor junior Maintenance Electricians and Maintenance Mechanics.
Complete daily scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance.
Diagnose and repair reported equipment, property, and building problems.
Maintain inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance schedules, logs, files, and records.
Properly store and maintain company-issued tools and related equipment.
Continually develop electrical knowledge through coursework, seminars, and readings.
Essential Skills
Troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience with 480V and 3-phase systems.
Ability to program PLCs.
Knowledge of NEC regulations (NFPA 70).
Understanding of power distribution systems, electrical panel boards, and switchgear.
Experience with motor control systems, including AC and DC drives, motor starters, and motor control centers.
Familiarity with electrical instrumentation and componentry such as sensors/transducers.
Understanding of 4-20mA and low voltage feedback control.
Basic programming skills for relay and PLC logic.
Experience with common hand and power tools.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00
