Summary Statement:
You will be working with a team of experts to create and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure, on site and in the cloud.
What you will be doing:
As a Penske Systems Administrator – Virtual Desktop, you will build, patch and maintain Windows systems on premise and in the cloud. You will perform routine maintenance and checks of tasks such as software rollouts and shift turnovers with offshore teams. You will also be installing, patching and maintaining systems for Virtual Desktop infrastructure both on premise and in the cloud. You will be interacting with your customers to deliver a top-notch computing experience.
Penske Responsibilities:
• Manage system infrastructure that hosts VDI.
• Monitor daily and respond quickly to any usability concerns.
• Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system.
• Build, patch and maintain Virtual Desktop infrastructure on premise and in the cloud.
• Install, patch and maintain software for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure on premise and in the cloud.
• Perform routine tasks such as coordinating software deployment, system patching and shift turnovers with offshore teams.
• Work on projects within the team and small projects with other groups.
• Building, installing, patching, maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of the following technologies. Microsoft Windows Server & Desktop both on premise and Azure. Building application layers and deployment of associated software. Maintaining security standards within the areas of responsibility.
• Perform cloud migration into Azure or Cloud hosted Citrix environments
• Provide operational support such as server monitoring, backups, patching, and other duties as required.
• Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and PowerShell.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Penske Qualifications:
• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field. If no degree, then at least 1 years of specific (function) administration experience required.
• Minimum of 1 years of system engineering and IT support required
• Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours.
• Expert knowledge of system security concerns and vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with operating systems.
• Service desk experience or someone with entry-level Windows / Middleware skills.
• Basic level of understanding of networks, security and databases.
• Windows Server OS knowledge & Windows desktop knowledge.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
