SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a consumer electronics company seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer V to join their facility in Redmond, WA. This position is a contract with an expected duration of 12 months with the opportunity to be extended.

$170k - $185k annually/DOE
Primary Function:
The Electrical Engineer V is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems, components, and equipment for a range of applications including commercial, industrial, and scientific projects. This role requires a leader who can manage complex projects and deliver high-quality electrical solutions that push the boundaries of next-generation technologies.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of electrical systems for consumer VR and AR products, with a focus on digital and analog circuits, power management, and low-power systems.
Supervise and evaluate design projects to ensure compliance with technical specifications, budget constraints, and safety standards.
Communicate with clients to provide estimates on timeframes, costs, and project feasibility. Present design solutions and technical findings effectively.
Oversee the simulation, testing, and validation of machine or system operations to confirm product quality and reliability.
Direct manufacturing, installation, and maintenance processes to align with engineering specifications, industry codes, and safety standards. Maintain detailed documentation of processes, modifications, and test results.
Inspect completed installations, address any deviations from design requirements, and implement solutions to improve system performance.
Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster an innovative approach to problem-solving within the engineering team.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Digital Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system design, testing, and implementation.
Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design using tools like Cadence OrCAD or Altium.
Hands-on experience with high-speed signaling technologies (e.g., HDMI, USB SS, MIPI, DP).
Extensive experience with analog and digital circuit design, including operational amplifiers, power supply design, microcontrollers, ADC/DACs, and high-speed differential circuits.
Background check required upon acceptance of an offer.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
