We are seeking a highly skilled Harness Build and Test Specialist III who will play a critical role in transitioning prototype designs into scalable, high-quality manufacturing processes. Key job responsibilities
Wire Harness Fabrication and Assembly: Build, assemble, and integrate high-quality wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for critical aerospace applications. Ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Prototype to Production: Work closely with engineering teams to refine and scale prototype designs into mass manufacturable products, focusing on process development and optimization to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Technical Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for harness build processes and operational procedures. Provide training and mentorship to team members and collaborate with engineering to document and improve future processes.
Process Development and Optimization: Participate in the ideation, planning, and execution of product development stages. Collaborate with production engineers to design and iterate on material process flows for the factory, aiming to optimize production lines and reduce lead times.
Electrical Checkout and Testing: Perform electrical checkouts using custom setups and off-the-shelf equipment to ensure the integrity and reliability of harness assemblies. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including supply chain and manufacturing, to address production and development challenges, bridging gaps between design and manufacturing.
Adaptability and Innovation: Stay current with new technologies and tools to continuously improve processes. Adapt quickly to changes in project scope and priorities to support the dynamic needs of the team.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent certification, with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, or an associate degree in engineering, math, or science.
Proven experience in fabricating or inspecting wire harness and cable assemblies, with the ability to interpret complex schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion/removal, harness routing, and strain relief techniques.
Ability to use various mechanical and precision tools, including measuring instruments.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
IPC-620 Certification or equivalent.
Experience in the aerospace, aviation, or other high-reliability operating environments.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
J-STD-001 Soldering Certification, NASA STD 8739.1, and NASA STD 8739.4 Certifications.
Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and use of custom and off-the-shelf equipment.
Experience in a high-growth startup or large, well-established tech company.
Familiarity with ISO standards, compliance issues, and government regulations such as ITAR.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,040/year in our lowest geographic market up to $93,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
