We help to ensure the most important priorities go to market to support Microsoft’s federal government customers. In this critical role as a Senior Finance Manager, you will manage a portfolio of launches, partnering cross-functionally with business, finance and engineering teams to drive financial compliance across the launch delivery life cycle. You will bring financial acumen and accounting expertise to write finance requirements and influence the design of financial systems and processes to deliver customer solutions. You will bring your subject matter expertise around classified data security, data analysis, and system flows to drive meaningful, compliant, and actionable results. You will collaborate with finance stakeholders to deliver accurate and compliant revenue recognition and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partnership: Effectively collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to ensure a holistic “One Microsoft” approach to delivering financially compliant launches with speed, quality and agility. Negotiate and implement solutions to complex financial transactions with business partners

  • Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of Microsoft deals in partnership with the Planning & Launch team to deliver financially compliant go-to-market solutions for Microsoft’s Commercial and/or Federal customers and partners

  • Financial Compliance: Interpret business requirements for launch to define finance requirements that impact transactional and financial systems/processes. Drive the design, implementation, and testing of new features and system functionality by partnering with Financial System Engineering team and Finance stakeholders to ensure all financial reporting and compliance requirements are met according to company and regulatory policies.

  • Risk Mitigation: Provide financial expertise to business partners to mitigate company, financial, and business risk in launch delivery, creating clarity on complex finance and accounting transactions and ensuring accurate revenue recognition and financial reporting.

  • Federal-Specific Launch Management: Provide adhoc financial analysis and validation within the Federal Airgap region, protecting Airgapped Federal Government data according to sponsor provided guidelines; educate business partners and stakeholders around safeguarding financial data and operations within government space.

  • Project Management: Build relationships and drive accountability while managing critical timeline and milestones throughout launch delivery lifecycle, documenting launch status and financial compliance risks through system tools.

  • Process improvement:  Continuously improve processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross team collaboration.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field AND 4+ years experience in finance or financial compliance

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Citizenship verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in finance or related field and 6+ years of related experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or (Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.

  • Security Clearance – Top Secret(TS) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Full Scope

  • Experience in Audit, US GAAP financial reporting, revenue accounting or SOX Controls.

  • Understanding of government contracting best practices and knowledge of safeguarding government data

  • 1+ year project management experience.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Organization skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize as needed

  • Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity in a rapid and dynamic business environment

  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships with effective collaboration and influencing skills

Finance Compliance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
