Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

 As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to work on and contribute to our extensive device redirection and input solutions which are fundamental to ensuring that local peripherals are able to interact with and be controlled seamlessly from a remote session. Responsibilities

  • Own, design and develop device redirection and input remoting solutions which ensure that local peripherals can interact with and be controlled seamlessly from a remote session.

  • Lead the design and implement new Cloud PC features with a special focus on seamless integration with OS platform capabilities.

  • Work across organizations, collaborating with internal partner teams such as Microsoft 365, Windows, Microsoft Teams, and others.

  • Provide leadership and direction for the architecture of secure, distributed, scalable, and resilient services using modern technologies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows OS integration and client-side functionalities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience coding in C++.

Other Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

  • Expertise in embedded systems, device driver development and debugging on Windows.

  • Expertise with remote desktop protocols (e.g. RDP, ICA, VNC).

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
