Missile Defense Agency Logistics Management Specialist in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama

Summary The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Responsibilities As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Perform air transportation actions, liase with US Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command, work with Programs to coordinate and execute the deployment and redeployment of MDA hardware via air transportation. Provide support with the direction, development, and performance of transportation management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the transportation actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission Transportation actions include (1) identifying the specific requirements validation of Special Assignment Airlift Missions (SAAM) (2) correlating PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required transportation support is provided at the right time and place. Transportation work requires (1) ability to coordinate and evaluate transportation support in consideration of the actions required to meet Program schedule and cost constraints; (2) possess an extension knowledge of US Air Force cargo aircraft capabilities and limitations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Experience validating Special Assignment Airlift Missions, working with Air Mobility Command to de-conflict aircraft schedules, working with airfield managers to coordinate arrival and departure times. Experience working with transportation directives and regulations to support Program mobility requirements. Experience working with load masters to confirm hazardous material manifests, cargo manifests, and passenger manifests. Experience working with higher level logistics specialists and across an organization to implement mobility operations for the Agency. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
