Responsibilities Utilizes standard methods and techniques to perform such duties as gathering, researching, and evaluating cost analysis data. Performs engineering/mathematical calculations, compiles statistical data, and conducts statistical tests for the organization. After two years, employee may compete for permanent positions. Employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous services under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such a term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)
