Nightingale College Contract Specialist I in Remote, Utah

Specialist I, Contract Position Summary:

The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the thorough review and management of contracts and affiliation agreements, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable laws. Additionally, the specialist will develop and maintain a legal database containing various contract clauses to support the college's legal and operational needs. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of contract law.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts and affiliation agreements, including but not limited to clinical site agreements, service contracts, and academic partnerships.

  • Ensure all contracts comply with institutional policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with relevant functions to gather necessary information and understand the context of agreements.

  • Provide legal advice and recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure favorable terms.

  • Design and develop a comprehensive legal database to store and categorize contract clauses, templates, and other legal documents.

  • Regularly update the database with new clauses, revisions, and legal updates.

  • Ensure the database is user-friendly and accessible to authorized collaborators.

  • Oversee the creation, renewal, and termination of affiliation agreements with clinical sites and educational partners.

  • Maintain accurate records of all agreements and ensure timely renewals.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for queries related to affiliation agreements.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of contracts and agreements to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Identify potential legal risks and provide strategies for risk mitigation.

  • Provide training to faculty and staff on contract management processes and legal requirements.

  • Assist in developing standardized templates and best practices for contract negotiations.

  • Stay current with legal trends and best practices in contract management and higher education law.

  • Assist with special projects and other legal affairs tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Juris Doctor (JD) or Paralegal Certification is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contract review and management, preferably in an educational or healthcare setting.

  • Strong knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in using legal research tools and contract management software.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
