SUMMARY:

The

Accounts Payable Clerk

performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Proficient using the 10-key.
Excel and Outlook programs; Stratton Warren and Infinium systems experience - a plus but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines.
Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of accounts.
Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
High School diploma required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Process 3 way - P.O., receivers, matching invoices
Prioritize invoices according to discount potential and payment terms.
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with the company policy and accepted accounting practices.
