SUMMARY:
The
Security Officer
is expected to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Previous casino security, law enforcement or military preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and BBP.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming Control Board Registration.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card.
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Must be able to maintain a valid license with the Gaming Control Board.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, grounds, equipment, and access points.
- Obtains help by portable radio, sounding alarms, calling local law enforcement, fire fighters, gaming enforcement agents, summons emergency medical services.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, detaining suspects for appropriate law enforcement agency for felony and misdemeanor crimes, secures and transports company funds and assets according to policies procedures, preservation, packaging, labeling and securing any material or evidence.
- Initiates and completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses, obtaining statements, signatures, taking and labeling photographs, obtains outside agency case or reference number and officials name.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturers instructions, reporting malfunctions, reporting repair needs to supervisor, learning and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Controls traffic by directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, providing information and assisting the public.
- Maintains company reputation by complying with all legal requirements and training; including, but not limited to emergency evacuation procedures, bomb threat procedures, safety and hazard communications, blood borne pathogen exposure control program, CPR, Federal and State OSHA requirements.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in a professional timely manner, maintains strict code of confidentiality of all work-related matters, promotes good rapport with the public and coworkers, participate in special events, duties or programs as assigned.
- Interacts positively with others and functions as contributing team member, both in and out of the Security Department.

- Adherence to all departmental and company policies, including but not limited to the attendance and appearance policy and the code of conduct.
