THE ROLE

We are seeking an individual who can act as an Executive Director of Corporate Development. This individual will have the demonstrated the ability to provide hands-on management of individual projects and acquisitions, as well as strategic direction to a broader program.

As part of its Health 2.0 vision, Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) has expanded its pursuit of partnerships, acquisitions, and other revenue diversification opportunities. PSJH's Corporate Development team is a strategic group that advises the CEO, CFO, and COO on assessing, prioritizing, and completing acquisitions and partnerships that support modernizing PSJH's operations, improving its capital efficiency, and diversifying its revenues. Several examples of this include Providence's alliances with both Microsoft and Nuance, the acquisitions of Bluetree Networks, MediRevv, Acclara, Lumedic, and QuiviQ. In addition, it has expanded its desire to rapidly identify and deploy leading edge technologies across its clinical footprint (e.g., secure vaccination records, clinical communication tools, new physician credentialling solutions) to improve operations.

As Executive Director of Corporate Development, you will play an integral part of the Corporate Development team. This could include providing day-to-day management of a strategic alliance with one of the world's largest technology companies; supporting diligences of organizations for acquisition; providing guidance as required on future state operations of revenue diversification efforts; and, acting as lead on internal programs to drive the transformation of care delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Define and exhibit Providence St. Joseph’s core mission and values including enforcing adherence to in-house policies and high ethical standards

  • Provide day-to-day oversight to, and strategic direction for, PSJH’s strategic alliance, helping drive engagement and alignment across PSJH to ensure the alliance realizes its collective objectives

  • Actively engage the diligence, and as required the integration of, analytics and insights organizations to accelerate revenue diversification efforts

  • Support leadership in the creation of future state operations of PSJH’s revenue diversification efforts

  • Manage a small team of direct reports, including Managers and Analysts

  • Share best practices with other members of the Corporate Development, M&A Integration, and PSJH more broadly

  • In partnership with acquired entities, Finance, IS, and other relevant PSJH entities, facilitate the development of strategic plans, GTM activities

  • Support the identification, recruiting, and retention of talent to further expand the corporate development, and non-core functions

  • Culture: Foster a culture of internal innovation and entrepreneurship; launch and sustain an inclusive and supportive working environment; represent Corporate Development within PSJH; and manage relationships with external partners, investors, and the public community

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent education/experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)

  • Master's Degree (preferred)

  • 7+ years in increasingly senior roles, with at least one successful prior Director, role at either a Healthcare, Technology, or Consulting company

  • 5 years of demonstrated direct or indirect leadership of Analysts or Associates

  • 5 years of background experience in both healthcare and technology (preferred)

  • Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction and problem identification and resolution.

  • Ability to represent the company with external customers/clients

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision-making skills

  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion

  • Demonstrated planning and project oversight/management skills

  • Sound financial management skills

  • Effective senior level communications and executive engagement and facilitation skills, including the ability to represent Corporate Development with external stakeholders

  • Success in managing business relationships spanning a portfolio of initiatives and projects, with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of industry dynamics and related technologies within the Healthcare, Technologies, and Services industries
