We are looking for an Environmental Fate Laboratory Chemist to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC.

As a member of our dedicated global team, you will conduct environmental fate laboratory studies supporting pesticide product submissions worldwide. Based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, you will work closely with other local and global regulatory science and regulatory affairs colleagues on data development strategies that fulfill stringent environmental safety requirements and BASF stewardship goals.

As an Environmental Fate Laboratory Chemist, you create chemistry by...

  • Using well-equipped laboratory facilities and shared laboratory associate support to plan and conduct a variety of environmental fate degradation, metabolism, and transfer (e.g., soil adsorption) studies.

  • Working to global environmental fate testing guidelines, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines, and adhering to BASF safety standards.

  • Preparing study reports, dossiers, supporting risk assessments, and responding to regulatory authority requests in a timely manner.

  • Developing, communicating, and implementing regulatory science strategies and defending these strategies with internal project partners and external authorities.

If you...

  • Possess an advanced degree in Chemistry, such as Organic, Analytical or Environmental Chemistry

  • Have a PhD + minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree + minimum 6 years of relevant experience with experimentation and interpretation of organic chemical behavior in media such as soil, water, sediment or air

  • Have practical knowledge of relevant laboratory analytical methods and technologies including extraction, concentration, clean up, and liquid chromatography

  • Are experienced using radioisotopes and operating under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), which are considered advantages

  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information effectively

  • Are proactive and enjoy contributing as part of skilled interdisciplinary teams

  • Are able to travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally
