APPLIED MATERIALS INC Customer Engineer in Richardson, Texas

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Customer Engineer in Richardson, TX to: Independently perform all standard service activities through Tier I where employee will complete procedures and standard start-up activities for each system (tool) that is installed which must go through Level 1 and Level 2 activities. These include moving the docking placement of the tool, standard placement of support equipment to support the overall system (tool) docking and leveling factory interface to the mainframe, docking and leveling the process chambers to the mainframe, setting placement of RF generator racks, heat exchangers, process pumps, running all cables to each module, and removing shipping brackets. Perform standard Tier II installation tasks with some assistance from Process Engineers. This includes calibrating all the robot positions to the factory interface, mainframe, and process chambers; Running pumping curves to ensure the process pumps are at the correct baseline pressure; Installing all process kits chamber parts to be able to run needed process and meet parameters, work on filling up heat exchangers with proper coolant; testing flow and temperatures and troubleshoot any issues to correct; calibrating all RF generators to the correct MHz amount; contribute in running 1000+ wafers through the system (tool) to meet customer specifications. Perform routine preventative maintenance within established timeframes. Complete quality repairs. Respond to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls. May participate in projects to reduce costs and increase uptime. Verify operational quality of system equipment. Assist senior engineers as needed. Apply diagnostic techniques and use of documentation and test equipment with assistance from senior engineers. Diagnose and resolve technical problems. Strive to perform BKMs and to follow all IP guidelines. Assist in planning, communicating, and coordinating support plans with customer management. Comply with all safety procedures and consistently demonstrates safety as a value. Perform retrofits on equipment. Assume responsibility for customer satisfaction and relations within Etch area. Complete repairs on customer Etch equipment efficiently.

Requirements:

Associates degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field, and 4 years of customer or service engineer experience in semiconductor industry.

Education or experience must include:

Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics

2.

Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

3.

Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics

4.

Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter

5.

SAP Proficiency

6.

Workday Proficiency.

Salary:

$39.86 - $47.83 per hour (Equivalent to $82,909.00 - $99,491.00 per year)
