Position Overview

The Construction Account Manager works under the direction of the Doublewood Construction Operations Manager and the Division Manager to deliver exceptional results on medium to large-sized client projects. This role has accountability for the fiscal and operational performance of their segment's organization and company policy with accountability to internal and external customers. This is a mid-level leadership role, and individuals are expected to have a high degree of demonstrated autonomy, leadership, and technical competence.

Compensation Data

The base salary range is 80-100k, determined based on industry and management experience.

Job Duties

The role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable laws (DOT, OSHA, etc.). Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing strategies to achieve sales goals and manage contracts.

  • Maintaining detailed records of business opportunities and fostering relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

  • Creating accurate proposals, managing subcontractors, and monitoring job performance.

  • Enhancing client relationships through effective communication and timely project execution.

  • Overseeing financial aspects of projects, including billing and collections.

  • Leading recruitment, training, and development of team members while promoting safety and quality.

  • Conducting site visits to identify challenges and improve processes.

  • Collaborating with management on project deliverables and change management.

  • Provides production reports and forecasts on estimated project dates.

  • Conducts onsite field visits to inquire, observe, and help identify challenges and improve processes.

  • Partners with the Safety Team to conduct required safety programs and investigations. Submits required documentation.

  • Understand, comply with, and enforce company, industry, and regulatory safety policies and procedures*

  • Develop and implement strategies required to achieve sales goals and obtain new contracts, enhance contracts and renew contracts*

  • Develop and maintain detailed files on all aspects of existing or prospective business opportunities*

  • Participating in employee training and safety programs, with significant travel required (up to 75%).

Qualifications

Required:

  • High-school diploma with a minimum of 3 years electric utility or telecommunications industry experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence and direct team members. Exhibits a growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision.

  • Understanding of operations, processes, and standards in the utility industry or related field.

  • Understanding of contracts.

  • Experience in project planning or construction management.

  • Obtain and maintain professional certificates and licenses commensurate with project requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, anticipate consequences and implement resources.

  • Electric hazard identification, electric equipment identification, or communication equipment identification capability.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, and data entry.

  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal. Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Draft intelligible, professional, and accurate correspondence in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

  • Perform complex arithmetic computations.

  • Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify, address, and resolve problems involving varied situations.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related technical field from an accredited college or university.

  • 5-6 years prior electric utility or telecommunications industry experience.

  • 5 years experience in project management, project planning, or construction management.

  • OSHA 1910.269 qualified training is preferred but will be provided as required by the project (including, but not limited to, use and testing of rubber insulating gloves, electric meter change out, use of insulated measuring sticks, open enclosure methodology, and use of phasing tools).

  • CAD/Outside Plant Engineering design software knowledge, pole loading analysis software knowledge.
