Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Nuclear Mechanical Planner position will be planning and preparing mechanical work packages for large- and small-scale projects to be performed by mechanical and contract maintenance organizations. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay rate: $53.68 - $79.65

Responsibilities:
- Develop work instructions for mechanical and contract maintenance projects.
- Oversee the implementation of modifications and ensure work packages are executed properly.
- Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for materials needed for work packages.
- Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities.
- Provide input for improving work package quality based on field observations.
- Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering teams to identify and resolve work package issues.
- Define necessary procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials for planned work packages.
- Prepare and/or submit necessary documentation, including Outage Schedules (OOS), Radiological Work Permits (RWP), plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, fire impairments, Operability Impact Statements, ALARA task outs, Regulatory/Code documentation, Quality hold/witness points, freeze seal and temporary leak repair documentation, and other requests.
- Verify that work instructions comply with station procedures, including NSPs, NSWPs, ASME Code, etc.
- Review and approve work packages for safety, quality, technical rigor, and compliance with 10CFR50.59 requirements (if applicable).
- Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, vendor recommendations, and maintenance directions.
- Provide project management oversight for system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of overall package preparation.
- Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback/craft interface sessions, detailed contract requisition reviews, complex troubleshooting, maintenance risk assessments, Clearance Order reviews, Planner peer reviews, and system interaction reviews.
- Ensure that station processes and changes are effectively supported and implemented.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree from accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of experience in a technical area (i.e. maintenance, engineering, operations, Maintenance Planning).
- OR An associate's degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of experience in a technical area (i.e. maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
- OR A high school diploma or GED and technical training or education similar to that acquired through an in-grade apprenticeship program for maintenance related work and six years of experience in a technical area (i.e. maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
