Project Overview:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary:
In this position, you will work with the project team to lead a team to manage the entire set of planning activities for assigned projects. You will identify schedule trends, analyze data to provide innovative solutions to scheduling challenges, ensure schedule updates are completed on time, and be responsible for reporting requirements. Your leadership will be essential in driving scheduling efficiency and project success .
Telework Designation: Full-Time In Office : This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. #LI-LO1
Major Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to: establishment of team roles and responsibilities; goal setting; coaching and mentoring; development and delivery of year end Impact Assessments; input to employee ratings and rankings; interviews candidates and makes recommendations for employment decisions.
Supervises the timely and competent preparation of schedule development, progressing and schedule reporting. Establishes format and content of schedule layouts and schedule health metrics and reporting.
Participates in developing and presenting training classes on designated subjects and on-the-job training for specific processes and practices.
Defines project needs for schedule control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
Supervises schedule status, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards accuracy and consistency.
Leads month end schedule reviews with project team members.
Prepares and presents schedules and analysis information to management/client.
Interfaces with designated Bechtel management and client counterparts for schedule presentations.
Provides comments and recommendations for schedule requirements relative to project controls. Prepares detailed staffing plans for planning and scheduling activities.
Reviews or assists in reviewing proposal provisions related to schedule and reporting requires of vendors.
Identifies and supports change control program.
Reviews and analyzes comparisons of scope, quantities, and activity duration data between the projects in order to develop overall Project plan/schedule for HLW.
Creates and implements measurement systems for established processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies improvements. Ability to use statistical tools to analyze metrics (e.g., regression, analysis of variance, correlation), and ability to analyze measurement systems to identify bias, repeatability, and stability issues.
Supports development of Project Controls standards and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Level 2 : Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and nontechnical personnel.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule analysis with minimal supervision using a high level of
professional judgment and knowledge using P6 and summary graphical layouts.
Knowledgeable on engineering, and procurement rules of credit for schedule progressing
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and / or plant operations customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
Advanced level knowledge and work experience with ANSI 748 compliant Earned Value Management System.
Experience in Project Controls with advanced level understanding of Project Controls general technical skills and tools.
