Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks a Jr. Work Control Planner, who will be responsible for preparing, tracking, and controlling work packages in accordance with work control processes. This position will be responsible for ensuring Maintenance and construction work packages are developed efficiently, effectively, compliantly to meet scheduling needs for various facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be aware of project schedules and work to meet those schedules.

  • Conduct planning meetings, job hazard analysis, facilitates scoping walkdowns.

  • Must become very familiar with all applicable procedures used in the planning process.

  • Interfaces with facility customers to ensure their needs are met and incorporated into Work Control Documents.

  • Ensures all planning activities are compliant with the work control program.

  • Prepare, track, and control work orders required to accomplish assigned activities.

  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take on increasing levels of responsibilities and increasing levels of complexity.

  • Must have the willingness to ask questions when unsure.

  • Must be willing to occasionally work overtime and weekends to complete planning activities critical to plant operations.

  • Must have the willingness to work closely and be mentored by other more senior Planners.

  • Develop Material Requests and completes Plant Force Work Review as required.

  • Must have basic knowledge to read technical drawings.

  • Must complete Planner Post reviews in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to complete the Planner qualification within 90 days of hire date.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe.

  • Must be a team player with a positive outlook in a customer service-oriented organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Grade 14:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction Management or in related discipline; and

  • Two (2) years of practical work experience in maintenance or related area, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., trade school degree) and directly related experience.

Grade 15:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction Management or in related discipline; and

  • 3-4 years of practical work experience in maintenance or related area, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., trade school degree) and directly related experience.

Grade 16:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction Management or related discipline; and

  • Five (5) years of practical work experience in maintenance or related area, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., trade school degree) and directly related experience.

*Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Desired Qualifications

  • High skill level with Microsoft applications.

  • Database management skills desired.

  • Maintenance or construction craft experience, or Field Work Supervision experience desirable.

  • Knowledge of operational, maintenance work activities, and CM planning at Tank Farms or Category 2 Nuclear Facilities is desired.

  • Previous WRPS Planner Qualification.

  • Mechanical, electrical and radiological work aptitude desired.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $71,200

Hiring Range Maximum: $108,513
