POSITION PURPOSE: The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the daily operation and maintenance of a process plant that manufactures a beneficial product and supports a large chemical manufacturing facility. Also, this position requires that the facility is compliant with environmental regulations. safety, operating, and emergency procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining an ongoing client interface to keep clients informed and enhance client relations.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following are the duties of the Project Manager, and are not all inclusive:
Manage the daily operation and maintenance and ensure compliance with operational, safety, environmental, and performance metrics.
Proactively manages safety, plant appearance and environmental issues and ensures compliance with Federal and State standards including Hazardous Waste Disposal and Air Quality Standards. Ensures that issues are identified and addressed and elevated if necessary in a timely manner.
Generate and review current reports, records, logs, and graphs to confirm adequacy of site operation and develop any future Key-Performance Indicators (KPI's) to improve and sustain safe and efficient plant operations.
Perform all baseline client relation duties and administer client contracts to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction. Ensure prompt identification and client notification of scope changes. Prepare and if needed, present any progress and/or special reports to the client.
Communicate with on-site or neighboring businesses as needed and professionally represent the company in those activities. Attend meetings and maintain positive relations with surrounding business community
Develop site objectives and an annual site operating budget in conjunction with the General Manager. Track progress to ensure targets are achieved.
Communicate company objectives and targets and manage facilities to meet those goals.
Support Client and company corporate personnel in sustainability efforts and site projects
Work with client business unit to provide reports and facility status
Manages personnel in all HR facets to include coaching and professional development of employees for career advancement.
Develop succession plan for staff and provide opportunities for leadership roles.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
High school diploma or equivalent, B.S. in Engineering is a plus.
2-4 years Supervisory/Management experience
Prior Industrial operation and maintenance experience of 10 years preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to manage resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation).
Knowledge of Process / Operations Management, Safety, Environmental and Facilities
Equipment Management.
Ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution, resolve conflicting priorities and to meet assignment deadlines within a team environment.
Ability to make decisions with careful consideration of the merits of alternative choices, to draw conclusions, resolve disputes and exercise judgment forthrightly and unambiguously.
Knowledge of budget preparation and cost control and have the ability to forecast budget, staffing and equipment needs.
Knowledge of purchasing system, CMMS systems and warehouse/inventory control
Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel.
Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports.
Computer skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database software
Proficiency in company and regulatory require Safety and Environmental Policies and procedures
Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Manage and conduct business in-line with Company policies and procedures.
Must be available to facility 24 hours.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to qualify and obtain Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card with 6 months of position.
