Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector located in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be expected to manage and supervise general accounting and financial statement reporting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage accounts receivables and payables functions, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data

• Ensure the production of timely and accurate accounting data and financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulations

• Conduct thorough financial analysis and reporting, providing valuable insights to the organization's executive management

• Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, supporting systematic financial consolidation and reporting

• Maintain accounts payable ledger, ensuring all invoices are properly approved, coded, and entered into the system

• Present monthly standard financial statements and enterprise reports to Officers, Executive Management, and Advisory Boards

• Participate in hiring processes for field unit accounting personnel, providing recommendations based on interviews and pre-employment test screening

• Manage the budget process, ensuring all financial resources are utilized efficiently

• Utilize advanced spreadsheet/database production for financial analysis and reporting

• Leverage skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to perform accounting tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within the non-profit sector.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Solid experience in maintaining General Ledger and preparing Journal Entries.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.

• Demonstrated ability to manage Month End Close processes.

• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle and SAP software for accounting and financial management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is preferred.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
