Job Description:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of gastrointestinal and digestive disorders, including disorders of neurogastromotility, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver diseases.
• Collaborate with oncologists on the care, surveillance, and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and treatment of toxicities of immune directed therapies.
• Independently perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, video capsule endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
• Independently perform therapeutic procedures, including polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection of complex polyps, esophageal dilations, and hemostatic endoscopy for gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Understand and interpret motility studies, including pH manometry, Bravo pH study, EndoFlip, and anorectal manometry, to apply findings to pertinent treatment plans for patients.
• Be up to date with national and international guidelines in pathologies and diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, liver, and biliary system.
• Independently perform on-call duties for patients with gastrointestinal needs, including ability to perform unsupervised diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
• Create, monitor, and treat patients with advanced pharmacotherapy, such as biologic therapy in inflammatory bowel diseases.

• Monitor and treat patients with conditions related to altered gastrointestinal anatomy, such as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and short bowel syndrome.

   

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of U.S. ACGME accredited internal medicine residency training.
• Completion of U.S. ACGME accredited gastroenterology fellowship training.
• American Board of Internal Medicine board certification in Internal Medicine.
• American Board of Internal Medicine board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology.
• Unrestricted Utah medical license.
• Utah Controlled Substance license/DEA registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Salary (Annual): $595,000.00 - $605,000.00

Hours of Work:

Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on clinic schedule.
