Robert Half Bookkeeper/Office Manager in Rochester, New York
Description
Hannah Savage with Robert Half is working with a non-profit in the Rochester, NY area to find a Bookkeeper/Office Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing various administrative and financial operations, including but not limited to, maintaining accounting systems, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position is central to their operations and requires someone with a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the majority of human resources record keeping.
• Manage vendor file records and ensure all necessary documents are obtained and filed appropriately.
• Collect and manage Form 1099 information.
• Maintain and manage revenue entries including collections
• Input accounts payable
• Oversee cash disbursements and ensure proper filing of account payable/cash disbursements documentation.
• Handling sales tax returns
• Billing
• Gather information needed for audits.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Review financial aspects of fundraising planning.
• Ensure compliance with counting procedures.
• Process payroll and maintain related records.
• Handle any other administrative or financial tasks that may arise

Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting
• Previous experience with payroll is a huge plus
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in Bookkeeping for maintaining financial records
• Personable professionals, can work in a team atmosphere
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and financial tasks
• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures to ensure timely financial reporting
• Ability to manage Payroll process, ensuring staff payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner
