To provide for the nutritional care for all patients within the scope of responsibility and act as consultant to other health care professionals in determining the best nutritional care options for patients.
STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: Unity Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Food and Nutrition
SCHEDULE: Day
ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field
- Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within six 6 months of hire
- One (1) year experience in a Healthcare facility
- Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
- Evaluation. Evaluates and interprets data obtained from the patient and/or medical record, including anthropometric and laboratory information, medications, physician orders and from nutrition and medical histories. Analyzes subjective and objective information to define nutrition problems, goals and interventions to complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment. Evaluates the appropriateness of nutrition support, and the effectiveness of nutrition care plans, making necessary recommendations in a timely manner.
- Communication. Educates both the patient and family as needed, provides nutrition counseling on an individual basis or in a group setting. Facilitates the development of realistic nutritional and lifestyle goals. Communicates with health care team, including physicians and other providers regarding patient plan of nutritional care. Make recommendations, requiring nutritional expertise, to all members of the medical team
- Assessment. Conducts and participates in quality assurance programs ensuring that standards and quality initiatives are met.
- BS (Required)
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
