The Director of Admissions and FCM is directly responsible for the development, implementation and overall operation for accessing services/programs at East House. As Director of Admissions, is responsible for revenue-generating strategies, determining and implementing admissions best-practices, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. As Director of FCM, is responsible for assisting clients in establishing and maintaining eligibility for financial and medical assistance and educating clients regarding entitlements. Serves as part of the program leadership team of the organization, represents the organization in the community and with funders and regulators.

Responsibilities

Programs/Services that Meet Agency Mission & Goals

  • Analyzes current and future trends and needs and accurately assesses competitive strengths and weaknesses of functional responsibilities. Identifies opportunities appropriate for the agency.

  • Ensures intake/admission and FCM departments are adaptable to changing demographics and needs of participants, as well as changing funder requirements and community needs.

  • Ensures the development of quality improvement plans for the department that incorporate funder and regulatory requirements as well as clinical best practices. Ensures staff understanding of the plans.

  • Utilizes relevant benchmarked data to assess intake/admission and FCM services and make changes to ensure that East House quality of care is outstanding and differentiated.

  • Ensures that intake/admission services achieves its objectives, provides high quality, effective services, meets budget targets, achieves growth target , and incorporates best practices

  • Provides leadership on the preparation and review of program reports.

  • Keeps supervisor informed on department activities related to performance to plan, and new development.

Department Development Plans

  • Participates with the assigned supervisor and other program team members in setting policies and determining strategies that support the organization’s mission and goals; as well as meet or exceed revenue, profit and cash flow commitments for the agency.

  • Serves as member of the program leadership team, supporting strategic direction and initiatives of the agency as they relate to appropriate program area(s) and translates these initiatives into appropriate policies and procedures.

  • Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.

East House Viewed as Community Partner

  • Ensures East House programs and services are known to referral sources by attending meetings, promoting services, networking, collaborating, etc.

  • Ensures development and maintenance of strong relationships with primary funders.

  • Ensures productive working relationships with strategic partners and regulators, as well as key leaders and staff within East House.

  • Advocates and partners with families/caregivers, community providers and funders to ensure client service needs are met.

Leadership

  • Creates and maintains a positive, inclusive culture based upon respect that builds a diverse staff, builds organizational pride, and ensures high performance.

  • Translates department objectives and goals to staff to ensure support and facilitates alignment of functional responsibilities to plans.

  • Provides consultation and supervision to intake specialists in the administration of department services.

  • Establishes measures and sets targets to improve process effectiveness, efficiency and adaptability.

  • Works cooperatively with QA to ensure compliance and quality services.

  • Ensures a department structure that supports the retention and development of staff to deliver a high level of client care, as well as career development for high performers/potentials.

  • Delegates authority and accountability to staff for appropriate responsibilities and decisions that are consistent with the scope of their capabilities (where applicable), rules and regulations of regulatory authorities, and policies of the organization.

  • Manages employee performance by establishing clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring timely feedback and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.

  • Develops and implements a plan to identify backup candidates for key positions.

  • Ensures the development of a team that is ready to meet future service requirements.

  • Ensures that all staff are adequately trained to meet the needs of our clients and potential clients

Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in healthcare, or related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in supervision and administration, preferably in mental health/chemical dependency residential programs;orthe equivalent in relevant education, training and paid experience. Masters degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Qualified Health Professional as defined by both NYS OMH and NYS OASAS required, which includes but is not limited to LCSW or MSW plus a CASAC or BSW plus a CASAC.

AValid NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record, and availability of personal car for work.

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience within behavioral health care systems (OMH, OASAS) and/or residential services;

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in personnel and administration; program evaluation and quality assurance; budgeting, and resource management;

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons and other staff;

  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating strategic initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities;

  • Demonstrated success in managing day-to-day operations of a large scale, high volume customer access functions;

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and effect successful transitions from community referral to admission;

  • Intermediate level Computer Literacy

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience with multiple database programs required.

  • Demonstrated integrity towards East House core values including being humanistic, progressive, optimistic, and collaborative.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects and paperwork, work with a computer and communicating with others both verbally and in written format.

  • Job involves occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs., walking, standing and reaching.

  • Finger dexterity to a level that allows the ability to operate a telephone and computer keyboard.

  • Hearing needed to a level that enables one to hear normal conversation.

  • Visual requirements to the level of being able to read documents and a computer screen.

  • Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures and various other information.

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stressful situations.

  • Ability to travel and access client homes, which may or may not be handicap accessible.

Working Conditions:

  • Traditional office environment.

  • Occasionally subjected to pressure due to time demands.

  • Frequent travel to other East House facilities and community agencies.

  • Able to respond to off-duty emergencies, as needed.

  • Constant variations in daily assignments, frequency of interruptions, volume of work, performing/presenting in front of others

Salary Description

$63,236 - $80,626
