ProAmpac Holdings, Inc. Intern - Continuous Improvement Engineer in Rochester, New York
Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead continuous improvement projects across the site
· Support identification and application of best practices, operating standards, and metrics
· Support deploying Managing for Daily Improvement as the lean management system across the site
· Support facilitating the identification, prioritization, preparation, execution, and follow up on CI initiatives across the site
· Conduct frequent operational data analysis and reviews to support identification and prioritization process for CI activities
· Execute an audit program to ensure proper deployment and sustainment of all CI activities
· Actively build and maintain effective working relationships with operations and business leaders at all levels
· Support the maintenance of the site's CI Plan
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
· Interest in continuous improvement and pursuing a related degree in engineering.
· Two or three years of college completed with classes already taken in lean manufacturing, six sigma, and/or industrial systems or equivalent work experience in a continuous improvement role.
· Excellent English language fluency is a must, additional language capabilities are a strong plus.
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
· Excellent project management skills.
· Ability to organize and conduct data analysis on operational data.
· Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
· Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
· Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
