Job Summary:Greenlight Networks, the ultra-high-speed, broadband service provider, offering residential and small business customers Internet speeds up to a Gigabit per second, is actively recruiting to add a Network Technician to our growing team. This position is an integral part of our network operations team ensuring the highest level of customer experience is exceeded.
Essential Functions:
Assisting with outage management and recovery
Liaison with Network Engineering team to provide maintenance and support optimization opportunities
Work as a support mechanism for new district cutovers or roll outs
Oversight of provisioning devices in preparation for home installation
Monitoring of alarms and record maintenance of maintenance and activities
Coordination of services with contractors
Assist Field Operations with Installs, audits, provisioning etc.
Assist Customer Concierges with technical issues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of home network and architecture
Familiarity with ISP field operations infrastructure
Understanding of command prompts a plus
Experience and understanding of network equipment such as routers and switches
Proficiency with Excel and ability to manipulate data
Database experience helpful
Ability to handle rapidly changing priorities and work independently
Navigating Mapping systems a plus
Professional Email communication
Ability to comprehend technical documentation
Clear verbal and written communication with peers, other departments and leadership
High level of time management, accountability and prioritization skills
Other Requirements
Preferred experience in an ISP or technical support environment
Two-year related degree highly preferable
Network+ Preferred but not required
Tech+ required
Expectations:
Schedule/hours: Our Network Operations Center is operational between 7am and 7pm, ability to work non-traditional business hours is required, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work weekly on-call.
Travel:minimal
Work environment:Traditional office environment with some hybrid flexibility.
Physical demands:Work is performed predominantly in an office environment and will sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Work requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Employees are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level.The hourly pay range for this position is $25/hr - $32/hr. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
