Responsibilities

It is an exciting opportunity to join the Pediatric CRN team! While CRNs will still manage beds on the night shift. There will be limited bed management responsibilities on Monday-Friday days and evenings. The Pediatric CRN will serve as a clinical expert and resource for GCH and leadership for the pediatric service. Peds CRNs are part of all emergency response teams, including the Rapid Response Team, Pediatric Code Team, Ambulatory Clinic to Emergency Department (ACED) Team, and the newly developed Behavioral Emergency Response (BERT) Team. Peds CRNs support nurses at the bedside with procedural support and nursing interventions, high-risk, low-volume procedures such as (but not limited to) radial arterial blood draws, hemodialysis catheter accessing and de-accessing, placement of IOs, and ND tube placement. Peds CRNs will manage the pediatric census and patient throughput in collaboration with key stakeholders, including charge nurses and GCH leadership. BSN and Pediatric Certification required, 3-5 years of pediatric critical care/ED experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to triage and prioritize, and the ability and flexibility to respond to ever-changing and competing demands within GCH required.

Qualifications

Requires a BSN or matriculation in a BSN program from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years or RN experience. This position is a member of the unit/service leadership team, demonstrates the ability to develop standards of care, unit/service goals, and objectives, and provides consultation and expertise in delivering patient care.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $45.22 - $59.75

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.

Schedule: FT position D/E/N. 36- and 40-hour positions are available. Every third weekend. Holiday rotation per group needs. A weekend contract is available if desired.
