University of Rochester Research Specialist I in Rochester, New York
Responsibilities
General Purpose
Provides direct research support and offers opportunity for future experimental and scientific development. Supports the planning, design, and execution of experiments, as well as direct studies. Uses existing protocols and collaborates with other laboratories. Works independently with occasional input on modifying, varying or adapting standard laboratory procedures to meet special needs of research projects
Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related work experience involving direct assistance to researchers required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required
Ability to generate and organize large sets of data, strains, and plasmids, and familiarity with all aspects of a laboratory to effectively help organize the lab required
Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed required
Excellent organization skills to help coordinate a number of projects, and the skills to help train inexperienced personnel required

Pay Range
Pay Range: $47,972 - $67,161 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
