Software Engineer

Job Description

The Tactical Communications SW engineering group is looking to expand its team of networking SW engineers to work on a collection of modern tactical military radios for DoD and Allied market space. These radios can be either single or multi-channel and support multiple modern mobile ad-hoc networking waveforms. We need an embedded SW engineer who can support the networking subsystem, including implementing network protocols, analyzing defects using network monitoring tools, and supporting test organizations in configuring test scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Be a member of an Agile Scrum team that develops SW for advanced tactical radio equipment.

  • Research, design, and develop embedded software for software-defined radio products.

  • Develop and conduct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.

  • Execute the software development process in a CMMI Level 3 environment.

  • Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in C++ and C/c++.

  • Experience in software development and embedded software.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented design.

  • Experience with Linux.

  • Understanding of networking protocols (RIP, OSPF, PIM – Dense & PIM Bi-Directional mode).

  • Familiarity with Multicast.

  • Experience with VPN networks and IPSEC security.

  • Knowledge of HAIPE (requires a security clearance).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience with object-oriented design.

  • Experience in embedded development on Linux platforms.

Work Environment

Onsite professional setting with work also being done in the engineering labs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00
