JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager and Operations in supporting designated facilities. The Senior HR Generalist functions as the first point of contact for employees' human resource related issues including payroll, benefits, leave of absence, and labor law compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Requirements of the position include, but are not limited to:
Payroll administration and HRIS maintenance of ADP.
Serves as the ADP point of contact to assist employees with any issues in accessing and using the site and app.
Responsible for Leave of Absence administration including FMLA, NYS PFL, Workers Comp, Short and Long Term Disability claims.
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees. Creates and posts job ads through ADP and other recruitment sources. Partners with temp agencies when necessary to meet staffing requirements.
Pre-screens applicants, schedules interviews, conducts background checks.
Onboards and conducts new hire orientation.
Assists with organizational training efforts relative to human resources policies and practices, organizational development, and compliance. Conducts training for OSHA related requirements and NYS Sexual Harassment Prevention.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of routine employee relations issues. Investigates minor employee complaints, making HR Manager and management aware of such complaints and insuring timely and equitable resolutions.
Manages performance review process for the organization, including electronic distribution & deadlines.
Maintains affirmative action program, maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Responsible for formulating, communicating, and executing the facility plan in order to comply with applicable regulations.
Assist affiliate companies when necessary.

Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal labor regulations and agencies. Ability to respond to complaints/inquiries from regulatory agencies.
Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers and interact respectfully with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated effort toward self-improvement by gaining new knowledge/skills and accepting new assignments.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Computer skills (Microsoft Office, HRIS, ADP Workforce Now).
Ability to speak in front of an audience.
Written communication skills.
Knowledge of payroll and benefits administration.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8 years of HR experience required, manufacturing industry strongly preferred
B.S. in Human Resources required
PHR/SHRM Certification preferred

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $75,000 - $95,000 / year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
