The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Senior Production Specialist. The Senior Production Specialist will support the Rochester Equipment Manufacturing team. The Senior Production Specialist will be responsible for helping create standard work, continuous 5S implementation, training documentation and training improvements, reviewing, and updating documentation for the group, and other projects as assigned.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

  • Primarily an A shift position but must be flexible to adjust their schedule to meet document update deadlines in support of production when issues arise.

  • Along with SME's, lead the creation of Standard Work within the REM team.

  • Ensuring training records are complete for all REM personnel.

  • Recommending changes to employee ITPs, maintaining Training Checklists, implementing Work Center skills matrix and proactively coordinating training to meet skills depth goals.

  • On boarding new employees.

  • Managing periodic document reviews as the Document Business Owner

  • Prepares Change Orders in collaboration with the Subject Matter Expert to implement process changes in the form of DCOs, NCOs and TCOs to support Production.

  • Is responsible to manage the implementation activities required to close Change Plans associated with Change Orders.

  • Is responsible to ensure that all documentation on the floor is the current effective revision.

  • May participate in project teams or project work.

  • Provides guidance to OCD Community change originators on Process for Managing Change and how Windchill facilitates that process.

  • Will assist in 5S and Lean initiatives on the production floor.

  • Support the production floor by maintaining the consumable inventory and replenishing supplies through the ARIBA ordering system.

  • Manage KPI's for the factory to ensure adherence to production goals.

  • Lead the Cost Improvement team in the REM.

The Individual

Required:

  • A high school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.

  • Skills and behaviors that will be critical to success in this position include: personal accountability, strong personal organization, clear verbal and written communication.

  • Solid computer skills (MS Office)

  • Desire to support others.

  • Process improvement skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency.

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor's degree.

  • A basic understanding of OEE and Manufacturing Equipment Excellence.

  • Proficiency as an Windchill Author.

  • Familiarity with Ariba.

The Key Working Relationships
  • Internal Partners: Equipment Manufacturing Operators, Quality Engineers, Field Engineers, Customer Service, Warehouse personnel

  • External Partners: Material Suppliers and Customers

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of an office environment. Up to 75% of time at desk, standing or sitting extended periods of time. No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $85,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
