Job Description

Summary: This is a contract role that could turn into a long-term position. As a member of the shipping and receiving team, this position reports to the General Manager. This opportunity offers the chance to work close to home and have nights free. You will travel within Illinois and Wisconsin to deliver heat-treated parts to customers while adhering to local laws and safety policies. The role involves operating a day cab semi-truck.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up materials to and from customers, including loading and unloading the truck by forklift or by hand.

• Communicate with the Customer Service Representative regarding the delivery route.

• Verify shipping documents corresponding with work orders to be delivered.

• Conduct visual inspections of outgoing materials for rust, dirt, mixed parts, etc.

• Follow receiving inspection and shipping procedures and applicable work instructions.

• Weigh all incoming materials, count containers, and verify information on customer P.O.

• Place any non-conforming material/rejects in the non-conformance/hold area.

• Perform a quick inspection of the truck before leaving for the day and ensure the truck is clean.

• Perform any additional duties requested by the supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Must have a CDL A license.

• 5 years of CDL A vehicle driving experience.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Familiarity with company Health & Safety Policies.

• Professional image and courteous demeanor.

• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

• Ability to obtain and maintain status as a certified forklift operator.

The role offers a good work-life balance with a schedule that grants 40 hours for weeks worked over 36 hours, and 48 hours on alternating weeks. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $56160.00/yr.
