Job Overview

As a Senior Production Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of safety, production, quality assurance, efficiency, and staff performance within one or more manufacturing departments. Your leadership will ensure operational excellence, aligning with the company's strategic objectives to enhance productivity and profitability. You will be the cornerstone in fostering a safe, disciplined, and motivating environment for all team members.

A Day In The Life

  • Strategic Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to production schedules, confirming all department employees are timely and prepared at the start of each shift. Optimize staffing levels to meet production priorities effectively.

  • Performance Optimization: Drive initiatives to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale, striving for superior results in all facets. Champion and help deliver continuous improvement efforts across departmental functions.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Supervise key departmental performance metrics, utilize visual controls, and provide detailed regular reports to the Production Manager to aid strategic decision-making.

  • Safety Management: Conduct thorough incident investigations, develop, and implement actions to prevent future incidents.

  • Staff Development: Lead cross-training efforts to enhance workforce flexibility and efficiency. Address and resolve personnel issues, ensuring a harmonious work environment.

  • Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with Human Resources to administer necessary disciplinary measures.

  • Operational Presence: Dedicate at least 80% of the shift to active floor supervision, providing direct leadership and support in the designated department(s).

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Working knowledge of and experience with general accounting principles and key financial concepts and metrics.

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Leadership Excellence: Demonstrate strong leadership skills, achieving results effectively through team management.

  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the Planning Group to prioritize orders and streamline production schedules.

  • Efficiency Management: Organize work and resources to maximize Earned Hours/Effectivity and minimize downtime.

  • Comprehensive Supervision: Handle aspects of employee lifecycle from hiring to retention, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

  • Attendance and Inventory Oversight: Monitor attendance through E-time and manage inventory and production logs in SAP.

  • Communication and Multitasking: Exhibit robust interpersonal and communication skills, managing multiple priorities seamlessly

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 – 7 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of growing a team and advancing production goals.

  • Specialized Training: Certifications in Kaizen and Lean methodologies

  • Technical Proficiency: Must be computer literate, adept in using industry-standard software.

  • Flexibility: Availability to work various shifts, including 2nd, 3rd or weekend shifts as needed.
