Robert Half Systems Administrator in Rome, New York
Description
We are offering a contract for a Systems Administrator role, based in Rome, New York. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our IT infrastructure's performance, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with other departments to optimize our technology use.
Responsibilities:
• Address IT-related issues promptly, including those related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Monitor and update our IT Asset Inventory regularly to ensure all hardware and software are compatible with our organizational requirements.
• Provide IT training for staff, helping them utilize technology effectively and understand new software or updates.
• Collaborate with teams across departments to identify IT needs and deliver suitable solutions, while managing local projects as required.
• Handle the IT Procurement process, from identifying needs to contacting vendors and purchasing IT assets.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, user manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network devices to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively.
• Work closely with the group’s central IT Team, ensuring all project documentation is produced and aligned with their guidelines.
Requirements • Demonstrated experience in a Systems Administrator role or similar.
• Highly skilled in Active Directory, including setup, configuration, and management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Backup Technologies, with the ability to perform regular system backups and recovery.
• Skilled in managing and maintaining Computer Hardware, including servers, laptops, and desktop computers.
• Deep understanding of the Food & Food Processing industry, including compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical staff.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Systems Administrator are highly desirable. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
