The Opportunity:

Komatsu are currently seeking a Senior Rebuild Specialist to join the Rebuild Management Team. The successful candidate can be based out of either Rutherford, Moss Vale or Parkhurst locations.

You will be joining our experienced and tight knit team of Rebuild Specialists, working with and influencing stakeholders from all disciplines within our organisation.

Reporting to the Business Manager Rebuilds, you will be responsible for accurate development of rebuild scopes of work, estimating, quoting and ensuring all non-standard activity and variations are effectively captured.

As the Senior Rebuild Specialist, you’ll be required to assist in supervising, training, and developing Rebuild Specialists and Administrators within the team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the Rebuild Management Team provides the necessary support to the Sales Team to assist them in achieving and exceeding booking targets for each fiscal year

  • Effective leadership of Rebuild Specialists, other internal departments and customers with respect to quoting timely, accurately, efficiently and effectively for the Komatsu business while meting the customer's needs.

  • Ownership of the documented response to assigned rebuild quote requests or tender submissions, including quotes, pricing schedules, technical departures, tender schedules, letters of offer and the scope of work provided to the workshop for execution.

  • Responsible for the SAP structure and service orders required to execute the applicable machine rebuild. This includes the initial project scope of work and project variations

  • Carry out direct customer facing activities with regional sales teams, to support contract and quotation negotiations to drive accuracy and completeness into work scopes for quoting.

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders within the product group and the operational teams to ensure a complete and achievable rebuild scope of work is formulated and accurately costed.

  • The scope of work provided to the workshop must align with the agreed customer expectations

  • Continuously review the quoting/scoping process and financial performance to identify opportunities for improvement in margin, quoting and execution efficiency

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Tertiary studies in either/and Engineering, Commerce, and Manufacturing.

  • At least 10 years work experience in the Repair of OE Products, Engineering, Commercial, or Operations role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Very Strong Technical skills and ability to liaise with Engineering especially related to the Repair of OE Equipment – familiar with machine design, fabrication and welding techniques, hydraulics, electrical and electronics.

  • Commercial awareness, business acumen and an expert understanding of quote preparation and presentation methods across multiple Komatsu Underground Mining Australasia products.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including electronic mediums.

  • Able to build positive relationships internally and externally whilst implementing change and effectively managing resistance to change.

  • Logical, independent thinker and very strong analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead, mentor, train and develop others within the Rebuild Management Team as well as within other Komatsu Australasia departments to improve overall rebuild service and performance.

  • Excellent PC skills including understanding of windows based computing - Word, Excel and Power Point as a minimum. Microsoft Project experience is favourable.

  • An expert understanding and proficiency in SAP on all aspects of the LM, SM and Engineering modules, including OE engineering bills of material and sales order development.

  • Strong understanding of MRP II and other ERP systems and processes.

  • A strong understanding of the mining industry and expert knowledge of multiple Joy products
