Tester

SUMMARY

Responsibilities of a Tester include but are not limited to testing point of sale (credit card) terminals and printers. The Tester will apply knowledge of basic computer use and testing of electronic components, reading of procedures, and limited soldering/desoldering skills. The Tester will input testing and repair details in an online management system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow an established procedure to evaluate a Point of Sale device for functionality. Turn the unit on and perform various functions on the device to perform a pass/fail evaluation of the device. If the device fails, complete an evaluation report to communicate the failure to the next level Technician to repair the device.

• Perform work requiring basic computer use and testing of electronic components.

• Use documented procedures.

• Input repair details in an online management system.

• Meet production goals determined by the person, measured in units per hour.
