Saginaw County Governmental Center Court Data Analyst - Family Division in Saginaw, Michigan

General Definition of Work: Performs technical work managing analyzing and interpreting Court data relating to juvenile and family cases to support effective case management, judicial decision making and overall court efficiency and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor.

Essential Functions: • Collects, validates and manages data from Juvenile and Family Court systems. • Ensures data accuracy, consistency and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory standards. • Develops and maintains relevant databases and data systems. • Analyzes Juvenile and Family Court data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. • Prepares and delivers detailed reports and visualizations to support Court administration and decision-making. • Provides data driven recommendations to enhance case management. • Conducts regular data audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy. • Implements quality control measures and resolves discrepancies with Court staff. • Works closely with Judges, clerks, and other Court personnel to understand their data needs and requirements. • Collaborates with IT staff to enhance and optimize data systems and tools. • Identifies and recommends improvements to data management processes and systems. • Stays updated on advancements in data analysis technologies and methodologies to apply best practices. • Provides training and support on data tools and processes to Court staff. • Acts as a point of contact for data related inquiries and troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information systems or related field.

Experience: One or more years of experience with data analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g. Certified Analytical Professional) is desired with experience in a judicial or legal environment. Must be proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g. SQL and Excel), have experience with data visualization tools and familiarity with case management systems and databases specific to Family and Juvenile Courts. Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of complex data and ensure its accuracy and compliance with legal standards. Comprehensive ability to prepare and communicate graphs, charts and diagrams. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting. Comprehensive ability to utilize the Court Case and State Court Management systems and standard office and accounting software. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present data findings to non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Comprehensive knowledge of related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices and procedures and legal guides, recommendations, best practices ordinances and laws.
