Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist for a busy orthotic and prosthetic company. The role requires working Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5:30pm, and Friday from 8am to 12pm. You will handle a high volume of walk-ins, managing 20-35 patients a day. Responsibilities include checking in patients, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and updating patient demographics.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and verify demographic information.

• Verify insurances and obtain insurance authorizations/precertification.

• Schedule patient appointments.

• Determine and accept required payments, including co-insurances, co-pays, and deductibles.

• Provide general office support.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• At least two years of experience working in a medical office front desk.

• At least two years of experience with EMR/electronic health/medical record systems.

• Experience verifying insurances.

• Proficiency in computer use and accuracy in work.

• Knowledge of medical terminology (2 years required).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an orthotic and prosthetic office is preferred.

• Customer service skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
