Saginaw ISD Overnight Specialist in Saginaw, Michigan

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of the Hartley Outdoor Education Center and Murphy Farm.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Per Diem.
  2. Salary: $81.60 per day.
  3. One (1) full-time school year position. (Days worked based on Hartley school year schedule).
  4. Approximately: 110 days. *Hours and days may vary based on Hartley school year schedule.*

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Director of the Hartley Outdoor Education Center, this position will provide confidential and diverse support for the Hartley Director for routine operational and overnight oversight. The position is responsible for overseeing school groups' needs (from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.) during their visits to Hartley.

DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be on-site and on call during the hours of 9pm until 6am during school trip visits
  2. Assist groups with cleaning, departures and administer medication as doctor prescribed during evening hours
  3. Report any after-hours irregularities to the Director
  4. Perform housekeeping duties as assigned
  5. Implement any emergency procedures as necessary
  6. Follows and upholds all rules and regulations
  7. To respond to customer needs and customer concerns for the Hartley Outdoor
    1. Education Center, as well as the overall organization.
  8. A high level of decision-making authority to assist the groups in their needs.
  9. Ability to deal with frequent and diverse changes in daily job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to stay overnight when assigned at Hartley.
  2. High school diploma/equivalent required.
  3. Must have current CPR and first aid certificate.
  4. Problem solving skills.
  5. Excellent customer service skills
  6. Ability to work well with diverse groups and individuals.
  7. Ability to analyze situations or information, to follow tasks to a successful completion.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  9. Ability to react to change productively.
  10. Ability to understand and follow directions both oral and written.
  11. Willing to receive additional training provided by the district to improve skills.
  12. Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner.
  13. Ability to exercise independent judgment.
