The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:
Nexteer’s Research and Development department is seeking a creative and highly motivated individual with a passion for product innovation to fill the position of R&D Co-op Student. This position is responsible for assisting engineers in the design and testing of new product solutions. The ideal candidate will enjoy a variety of activities from engineering analysis to hands-on build and test.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and engineering of innovative, new product solutions
Design and procure test fixtures
Coordinate prototype builds and testing, including hands-on activities as required
Apply engineering principals and analytics to diagnose and correct design deficiencies
Process, analyze, and summarize engineering data
Generate reports of product design and test results
Provide misc. assistance to R&D engineering team members
Create 3D models and engineering drawings using NX CAD software
Requirements:
Candidate must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
Up to 40 in the summer
Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
NX CAD experience is preferred, but not required
